The Daily Buckeye Blitz: 5 Keys To A Buckeye Victory In The Game

What is up? Welcome into your Daily Buckeye Blitz. We’re the most glorious most important day of the year.the day the day before the game. Friday November 25th 2022. I’m your host Joe from The Buckeye Cast bringing you my five keys to a Buckeye victory over the toilet up north. I’ve turned out to get emotional. I was getting misty in here. I’m getting excited. Sweating. Oh wearing black. You might ask Joe why are you wearing black? I’m Glad you asked. Thank you. I’m wearing black because there’s going to be a funeral in Columbus on Saturday. Yes yes we are going to execute these Wolverines. This is going to be a beatdown. I am extremely confident. This is not the same Buckeye team you saw last year. This team has another year of experience a completely revamped defense and a quarterback who is at a Heisman level.

So I’ll get to that later. Anyways all right here’s my five keys. As always I appreciate everybody joining me. And if you would subscribe. I’m trying to hit 400 before the Michigan game. I need like about five or six more I think. So please like and subscribe. I greatly appreciate it on youtube and if you’re listening on the podcast. Please download subscribe leave a review. I would really appreciate that.

And here we go five keys to a buckeye victory over these turds. Number one key to a Buckeye victory on Saturday. Step wrap drive through not to take him to the ground. Step wrap drive through not to and take them to the ground. What’s that mean? That is the technique for a perfect tackle. Defense specifically linebackers that is your technique. That is your main concern in this game. When you meet somebody in the hole step wrap drive through not to and take them to the ground. Contain the run contain contain contain the run. I don’t expect you to stop Blake Corum. He’s going to have probably 100 yards on the day. That’s fine. We need to stop the big plays. Getting to the third level okay. Linebackers d-line tackle tackle tackle tackle contain the run. It’s key to victory number one.

Key to victory number two for the Buckeyes. I’m gonna stay on the defense here. Strong on the edges. They love to run this short passing game with JJ McCarthy. He doesn’t throw the ball more than 10 yards downfield. So they love these little swing passes. These little screen passes to the receivers. Things like that. Corners safeties got to be strong on the edges. You’ve got a man up. Talking to you Denzel Burke. I’ve seen you make some business decisions in the last couple weeks. Cam Brown always willing to stick his nose in there. But we’ve got to be strong on the edges. Take away the big plays from those short intermediate passes outside.

Okay as key to victory number two number three smart pressure. I’m staying on the defense. This is defense focused because if they don’t score points they’re screwed because we’re we are going to score points. I’m not even concerned about our offense. Anyways key to victory number three. Smart pressure. I’m talking about D ends if you’re running stunts with the tackles run some some games up front. Smart pressure. You can’t open these gaps up between the guard and Tackle where JJ McCarthy has 10 yards to work with. You gotta smart pressure. If you’re running a stunt stay in your gaps and D ends. You can’t get too far up field you just open up and you basically take yourself out of the play. So smart pressure. Get up field. Get over into the pocket. Pressure in and if you can take them down take them down obviously with authority and with bad intentions. But smart pressure. Can’t open up these lanes for him to run especially on like a third and sixth third and seven where they get they can pick up a first down. Gotta have Smart pressure. Take away JJ’s legs make his arm beat you. Make him stay in that pocket and beat you. That’s not gonna happen that’s number three key to victory.

Number four let’s flip it over to the offense. Now like I said I’m not too concerned with this offense. I think CJ and the boys can move the ball on this defense. I just want CJ to relax. Woosa that shit. Play your game CJ. Let it come to you. Don’t force. You don’t need to throw into triple coverage. Just to prove you can zing it in there. There are no big windows in this game. All right most likely. So let’s be smart. Take what’s there. If it’s a drag right over the middle a crossing route for five to ten fine take it take it. We don’t need to throw at you know bombs all day. Take what’s there. Like your game and relax. You know California cool right.

All right that’s key to victory number four. Finally this is an overall key to victory. Number five is an overarching theme for the entire team. No matter what position you play from punter to snapper holder quarterback running back o-line d-line line linebackers safeties corners. Bring the edge. Play to the echo of the whistle. Bring it. Bring the edge. Don’t have to to rip somebody’s helmet off to be tough. All right. You don’t have to get in a fight and start punching face masks to be tough. That’s stupid. Bring the edge. Play with that intensity that this rivalry demands. Bring the edge. And I know Michigan will. So you got to bring the edge. As well everybody every position bring the edge. And you if you get beat on a play dust yourself off get up and go hard next time. Play to the echo of the whistle. All right.

And just be smart. We don’t need penalties. But we do need to set the tone in how we play this game.

All right so with that I’m gonna give you my score. I’m sticking with my score from Sunday night from our TBC Live. I’m going 37-20 Buckeyes. Shawn had 34-24. Jeff had 27-24. So we’re all same ballpark somewhat. Jeff sees it as a little bit lower scoring for the Buckeyes. Anyways I don’t think this is going to be this will be tough early. Obviously you don’t want to give up points you know in the first half if you don’t have to. But take them into deep Waters. Let’s get up on them. You know seven to ten points and see what they can do. I don’t have faith that JJ can score twice in a row. Especially if they’re down late in the game. And it gets ugly when he starts whipping the ball around the field.

So those are my keys to a buckeye Victory. A big one. 12-0 on the line. Trip to Indy. That’s all. Just the most important day of the year. That’s all. So I’ll be back with you tomorrow with my week 13. Man I can’t believe this goes by so fast. My week 13 scores and predictions. Go freaking Bucks! Talk to you later.
